Magnificent Magnolias

The Magnolia is one of the most beautiful and iconic symbols of the south. Magnolia leaves are perfect for early fall decorating with deep green a nod to the fleeting summer and the gorgeous brown underside a salutation to autumn.

There are just a few species of magnolia that can survive and thrive here on the Main Line. However, nothing compares to the huge stately magnolias in the south.

Interiors for the Home has just received a shipment of fresh cut magnolia stems. Grown in Florida from a premier nursery, these are bundles of pure perfection.

Interiors store display

Love magnolia leaves, but not sure how to use them in your home? Rest easy, we can help. We have an extensive collection of containers, baskets and vases; for the mantel, the sideboard, or the dining table and beautiful bundles of magnolia branches while they last.

Congratulations to Anne Groben of Newtown Square! Last week we announced a $25 gift certificate giveaway to anyone who spotted the gold leaf mirror that was purchase in our store and in one of the houses on the tour.

Anne spotted the mirror in the dining room at Tivoli Farm.

This is one of our new favorite wreaths and has been such a big hit so far - and we just got it in!

At the time of this posting we have one left in stock. Rest easy as we have more on the way soon, but if you love this wreath as much as we do please don't hesitate. You can always give us a call and purchase the wreath over the phone 610-989-9665. Don't miss this fabulous wreath for fall!

Dan Carithers - one of the best

If you love traditional timeless interiors as much as we do, then you must love the design work of Dan Carithers.

A native to Atlanta he also spent a lot of time traveling the world.
According to Traditional Home Magazine Carithers' signature moves include using mirrors to expand space and light; designing idiosyncratic slipcovers that sometimes leave the bones of the chair exposed; and button-tufting for instant elegance. Then there's his love of textiles, which often results in unexpected choices: faux leopard prints combined with a documentary toile, for example, checkered seat covers for a formal dining room, or the odd bit of fringe where you least expect it.

Here are some of his fabulous interiors:

Getting the Dan Carithers look is not so far out of reach. Interiors for the Home carries the full line of Dan Carithers Upholstery.

We even have a few of his pieces in the store.
Next time you are in Wayne stop in and see our Dan Carithers Upholstery. We would be happy to work with you and choose the perfect chair or sofa with a fabric that's just right for your home.

Our Favorite Mirror

We had this mirror from Carvers Guild in our store for about a week. We we unpacked it we swooned. It was our new favorite mirror. When it sold it was bittersweet. Sad to see it go but happy to know it was going to a fabulous historic home with a lovely owner.

Her house is one of the featured homes on the Tredyffrin Preservation Trust Historic Homes House Tours. The tour is this Saturday. For more information about the tour go the Tredyffrin Historic Trust website by clicking HERE.

If you are going on the house tour tomorrow then look for that mirror! The first person to spot the mirror and tell us which house it was in will win a $25 gift certificate for Interiors for the Home. Use it towards the purchase of your own fabulous mirror. We have several other mirrors in stock and we can always special order anything you like from Carvers Guild.

The look for less.

You may be familiar with the website 1st Dibs. Billed as 'the most beautiful things on earth' we certainly agree. However, unless your husband is a hedge fund manager or you've won the lottery, most of the items are a bit out of reach for the average person.

Yesterday we saw this piece from Robuck & Co. Antiques.

If you love the look, but the $4,500 price tag is a little steep then we have a very nice option for you.

This side table has identical legs and is a wonderfully made reproduction piece. At $575 your heart won't be in your throat if one of your guests neglects to use a cocktail napkin.

We have one of these tables in the store, but if your in need of a pair we can accommodate you.

For more information give us a call at 610-989-9665.
